(Web Desk/ APP) – The Islamabad Police stated on Monday that the security situation in the federal capital was ‘firmly under control,’ clarifying that no notification had been issued regarding the closure of schools and universities.

In a video message, Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital city police officer (ICCPO), reassured, “There is nothing to worry about. Everything is under control. People should not disrupt their daily routines and stop going to schools or colleges.”

Khan’s statement came after some private news channels claimed that educational institutions in Islamabad had been shut down indefinitely due to security threats.

Khan emphasised that maintaining security was a two-way process requiring active cooperation from the masses.

Encouraging the residents of the capital to remain vigilant, Khan urged them to stay connected with Islamabad Police's social media handles for timely updates.

He also cautioned against giving credence to rumours.
