Bilawal seeks PTI supporters’ help to defeat PML-N on Feb 8
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday urged the supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to cast their votes in favour of the PPP in the upcoming Feb 8 polls.
Addressing an election gathering in Township, the former foreign minister says the Feb 8 elections is a contest between two parties – PPP and PML-N.
Highlighting the PTI's loss of its 'bat' symbol, Bilawal noted that the PPP retained its 'arrow' symbol, and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured its longstanding 'lion' electoral sign.
Bilawal urged the PTI supporters to engage in constructive politics. He criticised the approach of the former PTI chairman, stating, "We kept on telling the PTI chief to do politics; abusing rivals and putting them in jail is not politics."
Expressing empathy for PTI workers facing challenges, Bilawal attributed the setbacks of the former ruling party to Nawaz Sharif's PML-N. He conveyed his respect for political workers and shared his own experiences, expressing a desire to spare others from similar testing times.
Referring to the arrests of numerous PTI workers allegedly involved in attacking military installations since May 9, 2023, when the former PM was detained, Bilawal appealed to PTI supporters, urging them to support the PPP in the battle between the 'lion and arrow.'
He pledged to put an end to revenge politics, recalling that when his party's prime ministers assumed office, they released "political prisoners."
Bilawal underscored the necessity of departing from outdated political practices and advocated for unity among all forces to guide the country away from political turmoil.
