LAHORE (Web Desk) – As Ishaq Dar, a PML-N senior leader and also the in-charge of the party’s election cell, on Sunday shared the names of ticket holders contesting the much-awaited polls next month, former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said only the people were source of power after the Almighty Allah.

He promised that a sea of people would come out of their homes on February 8 under the leadership of three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif and stamp the ballots in favour of Tiger – the PML-N’s party symbol – to change the direction of Pakistan’s history.

“The journey towards development and prosperity would restart from the point it was halted,” said the PML-N president in his message.

Although the PML-N previously already shared the names of selected party candidates from Punjab and Balochistan, no official lists had been made public at the official level in the case of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh.

But Dar on Saturday posted the lists in a series of messages on social media platform X, which was previously known as Twitter before Elon Musk decided to rename it last year, for all National Assembly as well as the four provincial legislatures.

The details show that the PML-N has fielded its candidates in 212 National Assembly constituencies with a total of 266 for the grab in February 8 elections.

DISAGREEMENT NOT A BIG DEAL

Earlier in the day, PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah told a gathering in Faisalabad that the differences over allotment of party tickets was a normal thing, as he promised a thumping victory on February 8.

The ex-minister said that the PML-N ended terrorism and load shedding and lambasted those who destroyed the country’s economy.

He claimed that even before the announcement of the 2018 election results, it was a foregone conclusion. A person was installed through a conspiracy, he added.

Regarding the controversy in award of party tickets, Sanaullah said the candidates have been given tickets on merit. The leadership made utmost attempt to keep the party united, he maintained.

The PML-N leader said he was involved in a frivolous case and told to keep quiet or he would face the consequences. He did not hold any press conference and remained loyal to the party and the leadership despite undergoing hardships in jail, Sanaullah continued.

The former minister told the gathering that the only solution to the country's problems is the PML-N, urging them to vote for it on Feb 8 and contribute to the development of the motherland.
