MIR ALI (Dunya News/Web Desk) – Four bodies were recovered in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan on Saturday, as the region grapples with the rising terrorism incidents and fast-approaching general elections which would decide who would manage Pakistan’s affairs during the next five years.

Police say they had been unable to identify the bodies so far, which were shifted to the THQ (Tehsil Headquarters Hospital) Mir Ali.

Two vehicles, one of which carried vegetables, were parked at the spot where the bodies had been found, the police said, as they rushed to the spot soon after receiving information.

Mir Ali is located 12 kilometres east of Miran Shah, the district headquarters, and 40 kilometres west of Bannu. The erstwhile tribal region is now part of Bannu Division.

North Waziristan is one of the merged districts of the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), and located in the southern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Along with South Waziristan, it has remained an epicenter of terrorism activities since 2001. The district borders Bannu and Lakki Marwat in the east with Hangu located in its north-east.

The southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the worst affected by the terrorism resurgence, as security forces and police as well as innocent civilians have remained a prime target of banned outfits.
