(Web Desk) – The Sindh government has introduced teaching licences for the first time in the history of the country, Radio Pakistan has reported.

According to Sindh’s caretaker Minister for Education Raana Hussain, this landmark reform aims to bring the same level of respect to the teaching profession as enjoyed by other skill-based professions, including medicine, law and engineering.

She said, “This step would ensure a culture of teaching excellence in Sindh.”

The minister, while addressing a ceremony in Karachi, emphasised that the provincial government would only consider applicants for the position of junior elementary school teachers who pass the licencing examination.
