WAPDA employees protested against privatization of the institution in several cities.

The employees protested against privatization of WAPDA in several cities including Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad. The workers took out a protest rally on the Mall Lahore and chanted slogans against the privatization of WAPDA. The protesters were holding banners and poster carrying anti-privatization phrases written on it.In Faisalabad, WAPDA employees organized a protest rally from FESCO headquarters and chanted slogans against privatization. On this occasion, the speakers said that conspiracy was hatched to sell this profitable department and announced that the strategy of countrywide protests will be announces next week if the government does not dos not withdraw its decision of privatization of WAPDA.Meanwhile, protests rallies were also taken out in other cities of the region including Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakar. WAPDA employees also staged a protest rally against the privatization of power houses and protested in front of MEPCO headquarters. The WPDA employees also protested against privatization in Dehrki. The protest were also staged in other cities like Gujranwala, Vehari, Qaidabad, Thatha, Kandhkot, Obaro and Digree.The protesters warned that if the process of privatization not stopped then power supply to whole the country would be disconnected.
