Supreme Court started hearing of the Rental Power Projects case on Monday.
Two member bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan heard the case against Rental Power Plants. Car Rental Company’s lawyer Akram Sheikh argued before that court that the power production process was remained suspended due to unavailability of fuel from PEPCO therefore, PEPCO is also responsible for not producing electricity. Justice Arif Hussain Khilji said that Car Company has enough resources therefore; Car Rental is equally responsible for less power production.Chief Justice, in his remarks, said that deliberate falsification is being witnessed in this case. Former minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf, Khwaja Asif, Nazar Gondal, Noor Alam, Nayyer Bukhari, Muhammad Ali Durrani and Qamar Zaman Kaira were alos present in the court room. The hearing of the case is adjourned till tomorrow.
