LAHORE (Dunya News) – Justice remains elusive for journalist Arshad Sharif even after one year of his killing.

Today is the death anniversary of Arshad Sharif who was gunned down in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya last year. Nothing has been done by the Kenyan government to detect his killer(s).

The slain journalist was living in self-exile as he had to leave Pakistan due to some issues.

Killing of Sharif hit the headlines across the globe, putting pressure on the Kenyan police for immediate justice. However, even after one year of his killing, nothing has been done so far. During preliminary investigation, the Kenyan police claimed that Sharif was gunned down in a case of “mistaken identity” however, it turned out otherwise.

The Supreme Court also took suo moto notice of the killing of Sharif and the case is pending.

Media quoted Kenyan investigative journalist Nyaboga Kiage as saying that the five policemen accused of the killing resumed their duties without facing any liability. The investigative journalist further said two of the suspected policemen were promoted.
