Punjab govt busts illegal organ trade gang
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said the gang involved in the illegal transplantation of human organs has been arrested along with its ringleader.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, the Punjab caretaker chief minister said that Dr Fawad was the leader of the illegal kidney transplantation gang.
Naqvi said Dr Fawad's entire gang had been arrested, there was a group of eight people who were doing the illegal operations.
The illegal operations were being undertaken in Lahore, Taxila and Azad Kashmir, where 328 people had removed their kidneys.
The CM said the gang used to charge 30 lakh rupees for a transplant and charged Rs10 million per case from people in foreign countries.

There was a lot of pressure on the police after the arrest of these people, if necessary, the case will be handed over to FIA, he said.
