Hangu mosque bombings: Corps commander commends police for averting major tragedy

HANGU (Dunya News) – Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat visited the site of the mosque bombings in Hangu district and met with the police officials who participated in the operation against the terrorists.

According to reports, the commander commended the police officials for averting a major tragedy.

Lt Gen Hayat issued orders to ensure best treatment of the injured.

He also asserted that terrorists would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.

At least four worshippers were killed and 12 sustained injuries when two suicide bombers targeted a mosque in the Doaba police station in Khyber Pakthunkhwa’s Hangu district on Friday, with one detonating his suicide vest outside the mosque and the other inside the mosque, where at least 30 worshippers had been offering prayer at the time.
