Prosecution cites security concerns as the reason behind the trial in prison

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court on Monday reserved its judgement on whether the hearing bail plea in the cipher case involving the imprisoned PTI chairman should be held in camera or not.

As Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the petition, Barrister Salman Safdar and Shah Khawar appeared before the court as defence representative and prosecutor, respectively.

The prosecutor informed the court that the trial was being held under the Official Secrets Act and the trial had been planned in the prison [Adiala jail] due to security concerns.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that the case record should be looked into to determine how the trial would be held, as he reserved his verdict on the matter.
