Army, police and Rangers will jointly take part in operation: Caretaker cabinet

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh Cabinet announced a joint operation involving police, Rangers, and the Army in the Katcha area of the province.

This move comes after a briefing by the Inspector General of Police, who reported on the current law and order situation in the province.

During the briefing, it was revealed that 218 people have been kidnapped this year, with 207 hostages successfully recovered while 11 still remain in captivity.

The caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqar directed the IG Police to expedite the rescue efforts and ordered the suspension of internet services in Katcha area.

The Chief Minister also emphasised the importance of constructing the Ghotki-Kandkot bridge as it would improve the area's accessibility and overall security.

Additionally, the Sindh Cabinet has extended the deployment of Rangers in Karachi for another six months, reaffirming the government's commitment to protecting citizens and combating street crime.
