LAHORE (Dunya News) - Preparations to celebrate the 76th Independence Day are in full swing across the country. The event marking the attainment of a separate homeland is celebrated every year with zeal and fervour.
The printing industry has been witnessing a boom in the sale of Azadi items including flags, badges and dresses .All leading textile factories have been receiving huge orders to supply flags, posters, banners and decorative accessories.The enthusiastic youngsters are keen to decorate their homes, bikes, cars and offices, with green flags and illuminating.
Various political, social, educational, and literary organization have planned to celebrate the event in a befitting manner. Functions to commemorate the sacrifices of our ancestors will be held at government and private level. Authorities in Punjab have planned special functions at the provincial, district, divisional, tehsil and union council levels
Flag hoisting ceremonies, seminars, independence walks, folksong performances, dramas on the freedom struggle as well as photographic, painting, poetry and debate competitions have also been planned.
The vendors on footpaths and road sides are also attracting huge public response ahead of Independence Day.
Meanwhile, Chairman Tehreek-e-Jawanaan Pakistan Abdullah Hameed Gull has announced to hoist an 850 feet long national flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day in Islamabad.
