Requirements for holding party office same as for becoming MNA: ECP
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) expected on Saturday to hold its meeting to consider the removal of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief from the party office.
The electoral watchdog was of the view that the requirements for holding a party office were the same as for becoming the MNA.
The ECP said: "A person who is not fit to be a member of the parliament cannot even hold the party office".

Earlier today, a local court sentenced the PTI chief for a three-year term and a Rs100,000 fine in the Toshakhana case.
Announcing the short judgment, the court also disqualified him for five years from holding in any office and said that the detail verdict would be shared later.
The court also declared that the PTI chairman was involved in corrupt practices under Section 174 of Election Act 2017 and had submitted a bogus affidavit with the Election Commission, ordering the Islamabad Police chief to arrest the convict immediately while issuing the arrest warrants.
