Shehbaz expressed it while addressing Pakistan Minerals Summit Dust to Development at Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday emphasised the need for action rather than words to achieve objectives.

He was addressing the opening session of the Pakistan Minerals Summit - Dust to Development held in Islamabad.

The summit aims to attract foreign investment, an aspect appreciated by the Saudi minister.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the interruptions caused by corruption in the development of the mineral sector. He cited the example of the Pakistan Steel Mills which was established with Russian cooperation in the 70s. He said it faced challenges due to corruption.

He also criticised the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for targeting individuals for political revenge while turning a blind eye to the corrupt.

Expressing his concern for the oppressed people of Pakistan, Sharif emphasised that their rights had been denied for 75 years. He emphasised the need to learn from the past mistakes, work diligently and dedicate time and energy towards the welfare of the nation.

“We have only this month to complete our term," he said. He stressed the importance of utilising time and efforts for the betterment of the country, urging everyone to unite and work towards achieving the goals.

The prime minister also reiterated his willingness to work with India. "We are prepared to talk with everyone, even with our neighbour, provided that the neighbour is serious to talk serious matters on the table because war is no more an option," he said.
