Chinese vice premier lands in Pakistan to mark 10 years of CPEC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chinese Vice President He Lifeng arrived on Sunday in Pakistan on a three-day visit to mark the 10 years of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The Chinese vice premier was welcomed by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

Local holidays had been announced in Islamabad for July 31 and August 1. The announcement of the public holiday was made with the approval of the chief commissioner.

According to the sources, full security and extraordinary arrangements will be made for the visit of the Chinese delegation.

Separately, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said: “China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and iron-clad friends. The friendship is time-honored.”

“China hopes that this visit will be an opportunity for both sides to jointly implement the important consensus between leaders of the two countries, renew the traditional friendship, build on past achievements and upgrade the development of CPEC, consolidate and deepen the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, advance the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era and contribute to the development and prosperity of the region and beyond,” she added.
