Army called in for Muharram security

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government on Wednesday asked to deploy the Pakistan Army and Rangers to maintain law and order during Muharram.
On the request of the district administration, the Rangers and the army have been called in sensitive areas of the province.
It has also been decided to keep a close eye on individuals included in the Fourth Schedule in Punjab. Punjab police personnel will also be deployed in large number across the province.
Immediate actions will be taken by filing cases and arresting those who incite violence and spread religious hatred. The government has also imposed Section 144 across the province till 10th of Muharram.
