Police foil terror plot in Islamabad

Police foiled a terror plot and recovered large quantity of weapons from the federal capital.

According to police, they have foiled a terror plot in the capital, arresting two suspects and seizing several explosives-laden vests and ammunition from a militant hideout.Senior police officer Bin Yamin said that the authorities detained the two suspects Saturday as they drove through Chatha Bakhtawar area of Islamabad.He said the men had concealed more than a dozen rockets, 12 hand grenades and vests packed with explosives in their car and at an Islamabad home.Yamin did not give further details and only said officers were still investigating. It was not clear what the suspects may have been targeting.Islamabad and many of Pakistans other major cities have witnessed scores of suicide and bomb attacks during last 10 years.
