JI announces its manifesto

Abour 40-year of its creation, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has declared its election manifesto.

Addressing a press conference, JI ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan said that after coming into power, the JI would end loadshedding within six months. He said that his party’s main focus would be getting rid of US slavery to restore Pakistan’s independence and sovereignty, ridding of IMF and striving for self reliance, wiping out corruption, overcoming loadshedding within six months, building five major dams within 10 years to overcome power and water shortage, evolving interest-free economy.The JI plans to eliminate the culture of extortion, abductions and target killings. The rights of the provinces on their resources would be respected and the rich mineral wealth of Balochistan would be explored and utilized for national development, he added.
