The National Assembly session will begin today under deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi.
The 35th session of the National Assembly will start today to hold debate on national security situation arising after Pak-US tension. President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the NA session on the advice of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.Although, debate on the national security would dominate in the session, yet routine agenda would also be taken up during its proceedings. Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had also demanded summoning of the National Assembly session to discuss relations with the United States and policy on war against terror.Prime Minister on the very first day of the session is likely to give a policy statement to kick off the debate on the national security.Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar is also expected to inform the House about her meetings in Washington.The National Assembly session was held in the second week of September but it was prorogued after remaining in session for only one day due to floods in Sindh.
