Muhammad Khan Laghari summoned by anti-corruption Punjab for allegedly occupying govt land

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab anti-corruption has summoned former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Minister Zartaj Gul at 10 am tomorrow (Thursday) for her alleged involvement in awarding contracts for various projects to her frontmen, causing a loss of crores to the government exchequer.

Zartaj Gul was earlier summoned on April 19, but she did not appear. Her husband and private secretary have also been summoned along with her.

According to sources, Zartaj Gul and her husband revised the projects and awarded contracts to their frontmen, receiving huge bribes in return. The anti-corruption Punjab has issued a final notice to Zartaj Gul and has ordered her to appear before them on May 11.

Meanwhile, former Member National Assembly Muhammad Khan Laghari has also been summoned by anti-corruption Punjab on May 12 for allegedly building four shops on government land. Mr Laghari is accused of illegally occupying these shops worth crores of rupees.

This is the second summons notice issued by the anti-corruption Punjab to Muhammad Khan Laghari. The authorities have urged him to appear before them on May 12 to provide an explanation for his actions.
