The Chairman Mohajir Qaumi Movement Afaq Ahmed will be released from Malir Jail today.

He was arrested on charges of killing a taxi driver on April 3, 2004. There were about 12 cases registered against him in various police stations.He was acquitted in 11 cases, out of 12. He was also convicted in a murder casec and got life imprisonment. The Sindh High Court declared the verdict against him null and void and accepted his bail application.Between 2009 and 2011, 9 more cases were registered against him, out of which 6 were withdrawn by the police. In the rest of three cases, the courts accepted his bail plea.On Tuesday, the SHC accepted his bail plea for Rs 1 million security bond.
