PTI-PDM mutually agree on rescheduling negotiations

Pakistan

The meeting supposed to take place at 11am will now be held at 9pm tonight at Senate Secretariat

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Today the government and PTI will have their last round of negotiations regarding the political turmoil in the country. However, both the parties have rescheduled the timing of the meeting with mutual consent.

After mutual agreement between the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the time for negotiations has been changed. The meeting of the negotiating committee, which was supposed to take place at 11am, will now be held at 9pm tonight due to the busy schedules of the committee members. The talks will take place at the Senate Secretariat.

The delegations of the PTI and the ruling coalition will meet tonight at the Parliament House at 9pm to hold final round of negotiations and reach a conclusion after consulting with their leadership. It should be noted that while the government wants to continue until the budget is presented, the PTI emphasise to dissolve the government by May 14. In this regard, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also said that they are prepared for elections if the National Assembly is dissolved by May 14.

While speaking to Dunya News, Fawad Chaudhry, member of the PTI's negotiating team, said that 70% of the negotiations have been successful. We want elections before the budget, and the government wants them after the budget. After the attack on Pervez Elahi's house, there was a lot of pressure on us to end the negotiations, but Imran Khan said to sustain the negotiations.

Fawad Chaudhry further said that the people in government used to say that the PTI does not agree on negotiation, but we have proved them wrong. Our negotiating committee is trying to find a solution to the issue. Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal are trying to sabotage the negotiations, and the disruptors are backed by Maryam Nawaz.
