Plea filed in SC for restoration of Punjab, KP assemblies
Pakistan
Petitioner claims dissolution of assemblies unconstitutional, illegal
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A plea was filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking the restoration of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies.
The petitioner argued that the dissolution of both assemblies was unconstitutional and illegal, and not based on the discretionary authority of the chief ministers.
According to the petition, both assemblies were dissolved at the behest of General (retd) Bajwa, as admitted by former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, and urged the court to order the restoration of the assemblies.
