Main concern of PTI was the election, not the judge or the bench.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhary on Friday, reacted to the recent decision made by Justice Athar Minallah in the Punjab election case.

Mr Chaudhary stated that the decision recognized the principle of elections taking place within ninety (90) days.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Chaudhary explained that Justice Athar Minallah's dissenting note in the Punjab election case referred to the decision made by the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding the election within 90 days.

He further stated that the main concern of PTI was the election, not the judge or the bench.

He questioned the government's constant display of disrespect towards the courts.

In another tweet, Mr Chaudhary commented on the case of Islamabad police filing an FIR (First Information Report) under Section 124A of the Pakistan Penal Code, which was declared unconstitutional by the LHC.

Section 124A of the Pakistan Penal Code relates to the offence of sedition, which is defined as "bringing or attempting to bring into hatred or contempt, or exciting or attempting to excite disaffection towards the government established by law in Pakistan."

The section was criticized for being overly broad and was used in the past to silence political dissent.
