Nawaz Sharif to lead PML-N in upcoming elections: Rana Sanaullah
LONDON (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday Nawaz Sharif would lead the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in upcoming elections as his presence was mandatory for the party’s success.
Talking to the media, he said the PML-N senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz would also participate in the campaign adding Ms Maryam would return to the country next week. Responding to a question, he said Ms Nawaz could be the first female Chief Minister of Punjab.
He said the judiciary must pay heed to the PML-N’s reservations on CM Elahi’s vote of confidence in Punjab Assembly adding baseless allegations of horse-trading were levelled against them. “PTI leaders were not satisfied with the dissolution of Punjab Assembly”, he added.
Commenting on elections, he said it was possible that election might not be held in three months. “Though the constitution binds election within 90 days but there are other provisions in the constitution too”, he added.
He said the PTI chief Imran Khan could face disqualification in Terrian White case adding if Mr Imran should be arrested in Toshakhana case if it was legible”, he added.
