Junaid Safdar likely to dabble in politics in Pakistan

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were in Geneva on a weeklong visit.

LONDON (Web Desk) - Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar is likely to reach Pakistan on Friday to settle there permanently and assist his mother in politics. 

Maryam Nawaz, who was recently appointed senior vice president and chief organiser of the PML-N, was expected to take a center stage in the party ahead of the upcoming general election. 

Sources claim that Junaid Safdar and his wife Ayesha Saif are likely to return to Pakistan on Friday while Maryam Nawaz is planning to return in the next few weeks.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday Maryam Nawaz would return to the country in “third week of January”. On her return, Maryam Nawaz would assume her new responsibilities as “chief organiser” of the party, the minister said in a tweet.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are in Geneva on a weeklong visit. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also reach Geneva on Sunday. Sources said a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and PM Shehbaz Sharif was also expected during the prime minister’s visit.
