Scores injured in celebratory firing on eve of New Year in Pakistan
KARACHI/LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dozens of people were injured as a result of celebration firing on the eve of New Year in different parts of the country on Saturday night.
Among the injured were several women and children who were shifted to different hospitals. In Karachi, areal firing left 22 people injured. Several cases were also reported in Lahore.
The Karachi police took several violators including two cops into custody. On the other hand, the Lahore police also arrested 20 people for resorting to jubilation firing in different parts of the city. Dozens of incidents of performing fireworks and committing celebration firing were also reported in other parts of the country despite warnings by the respective district administrations and the police.
