An anecdote of Benazir Bhutto's life...
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Ibne Rizvi, a former in-charge of the People’s Secretariat in Rawalpindi, had said in an interview that Benazir Bhutto was extremely happy on the day of the Liaquat Bagh rally and had a special glow on her face.
Mr Rizvi said, “A strange incident happened that day as Benazir Bhutto used to look at the tree in front of her again and again, and sometimes she used to say to her companion Naheed Khan that whoever is sitting on the tree in front of her, she will pull it down." He said that when Ms Bhutto said the same thing to Mr Makhdoom, he also said that there was nothing, after which she told the same thing to another person present at the meeting, and he also denied seeing anything.
On this occasion, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed told Naheed Khan, "I think my eyesight has become a little weak, make an appointment with a good eye specialist in Karachi tomorrow, I have to get my eyesight checked," but that day never came.
On Dec 27, 2007, Benazir went to Liaquat Baagh, Rawalpindi, to address a massive public meeting. Returning from the venue, Benazir saw a group of supporters chanting slogans around her car. She stood up through the sun-roof of the car to wave her hand at the supporters. And just then, out of nowhere, a terrorist shot her in the head. An explosion was heard just then.
She was taken to hospital. Amid the sobbing and mourning supporters, Babar Awan informed the media that Benazir had passed away.
