BNP-Mengal claims differences over Reqo Diq persist

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Balochistan National Party Vice President Malik Wali Kakar said on Wednesday their grievances had not been addressed by the federal government in the Reqo Diq case.

He refuted the claim of law minister Azam Nazir Tarar who claimed that the issue had been resolved. “The statement of Mr Tarar is contrary to the facts, and the deadlock related to Reqo Diq is still in place,” he stated.

He also said federal minister Ayaz Sadiq had sought time for a meeting which would be agreed upon after consultation with his party.

Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar claimed in parliament that the issues with the BNP-Mengal had been solved. He said negotiations were going on with all allies.

Earlier, Prime Minsiter Shehbaz Sharif made his efforts to allay the apprehensions of allies. In his telephonic contact with Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief and the BNP leader, he assured them that their reservations would be removed.
