Nation celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious zeal, fervor

The day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute at provincial capitals.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The nation is celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with traditional zeal and fervour, renewing the pledge to transform their lives in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute at provincial capitals.

Special prayers were offered in mosques for upholding and flourishing of Islam and unity, solidarity, progress, and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

A number of activities, including processions, seminars, conferences and discussion programs will be organized across the country to mark the annual religious event.

Streets, roads, markets and buildings have been beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colors and banners bearing writings about the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

President urges nation to follow teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

The President, in his message, said the birth of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the promise of healing for humanity. He said our Prophet (PBUH) eliminated slavery and brought justice in society.

“His prophet hood made visible the difference between good and evil, the darkness of ignorance was removed, the customs of non-believers were abolished, the name of the lone Creator of the universe was magnified and hearts of the humanity shone with the purity of the oneness of Allah. The slaves who were crushed under the weight of oppression and cruelty received the blessing of freedom and the era of justice and equity was ushered in.”

In his message on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said humanity was waiting for centuries for the arrival of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) so that he could dismiss dark clouds of ignorance, oppression, cruelty, and exploitation.

“Allah sent our last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a blessing for the believers.”

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a guide, support and refuge for the oppressed, needy, orphans, widows, poor and slaves, he added.

“Allah may give us the courage and strength to completely follow the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” he concluded.

Humanity regained its lost high values, morals with arrival of Prophet (PBUH): FM Bilawal

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has felicitated the entire Muslim Ummah including the Pakistani nation and said that humanity regained its lost high values and morals with the arrival of the Prophet (PBUH).

He said that today, if mankind fully follows the principles of coexistence, cooperation, and tolerance as told by the Prophet (PBUH), the world can end conflicts and tensions while paving way for peace and prosperity.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari has asked the people to be thoughtful on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. While rejoicing, we should also reflect on how far we have fallen from his teachings, tolerance and understanding of one another, he added.
