Imran Khan, Fazlur Rehman express grief over demise of renowned Turkish cleric
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Jamiat Uelma-i-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday have expressed their grief over the demise of renowned Turkish cleric Shaykh Mahmud Effendi.
Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan wrote that “Saddened to hear about the demise of Shaykh Mahmud Effendi demise. He revived Islam & Sunnah at a challenging time, inspiring millions of people in Turkey & around the world.”

The JUIF chief wrote that he was a symbol of the revival of Islamic studies in Turkey after the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate.
He further wrote that Sheikh s devotion, piety and love for Islamic rites were ideal, adding that the departed soul will always be remembered for his services.
