Nation's eyes set on Supreme Court: Sheikh Rashid

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Thursday while rebuking the government said that the top brass is focused towards ending the cases and filing fake cases of terrorism against the opposition as it was a master plan to bring Shehbaz Shairf into power in place of the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the nation has eyes set on the Supreme Court.

Taking to Twitter, Sheikh Rashid said that the government has again increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs24 and Rs60 respectively. He added that the PM rejected the summary to increase the price of petrol yesterday, just to fool the public so that they may not rush to the pumps and the very next day people woke up to another bad news.

Talking about the awaited decision of the Supreme Court regarding the PTI long march, the Interior Minister said the nation has eyes set on the apex court.

“If the matter is to be taken on the streets to decide, then it could turn out to be anything within the span of 45 days,” he said.

In another tweet Sheikh Rashid said that the DG ISPR has dragged him in the NSC Communiqué attempting to re-open the matter.

“Every meeting has minutes and the press release of the meeting was issued after the approval of all participants and I may go to the Supreme Court soon due to the sensitivity of current situation,” he added.

Turing his aim at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he said that Asif Zardari is about to make the physically impaired National Assembly do a terrible job as per his foreign agenda.

“There is no one in the imported assembly to present the budget while the deviant members in the Punjab Assembly are passing an unconstitutional budget,” he continued saying.

He further said that yesterday in the Provincial Assembly there was an unprecedented use of force and police. He termed it as ‘mockery of the constitution’.

“They don’t care about the people and they think they will stay in power for long,” he said.
