LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two terrorist involved in Lahore’s Anarkali bomb blast, who were in custody of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), were killed by firing of their own accomplices during an encounter in Badami Bagh area of Lahore on Friday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the arrested terrorists were being taken for recovery of arms by the CTD personnel when some of their accomplices opened fire at the law enforcement agency and in the crossfire both arrested terrorists were killed.
Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on May 17 had arrested two terrorists allegedly involved in the deadly blast in Lahore s crowded Anarkali area earlier this year.
On January 20, three people were killed and over 30 injured in the blast in Lahore s Anarkali bazaar, which law enforcement agencies had initially believed was a gas cylinder explosion. Subsequent investigations determined that it was a bomb blast. The Baloch Nationalist Army, a newly emerged terror outfit, had claimed responsibility for the blast.
