KP govt launches scheme to provide free ration to poor families

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched Insaf Food Card to provide food to the people of lower wages in the province and 50 million citizens will be benefitted from this scheme.
Under the scheme, households earning less than Rs. 25,000 per month will be provided cash for the purchase of basic necessities. Deserving families will be given Rs. 2100 per month through Insaf Food Card Scheme.
Chief Minister KPK Mahmood Khan has said that 1 million families will get the benefit from this scheme.
On the other hand, KPK citizens appreciated the food card scheme while the people said that this scheme will reduce the problems of vulnerable segments of society.
The food card scheme will cost Rs. 26 billion annually. It will be implemented from July this year while more families will be included in the next stage of the scheme.
