Heavy rain drowns many areas of Lahore

The provincial metropolis received heavy rain on Friday.

Heavy rain hit Lahore and its suburbs which gave relief to the citizens from hot and humid weather.The heavy rain also caused problems for the citizens as rainwater accumulated in the low-lying areas while heavy showers also created traffic problems as roads remained submerged in water, suspending routine life for quite some time.Most streets and roads in the city were inundated with rainwater, exposing the planning of the departments concerned. According to the Met Office the city received about 81mm rain.Rain also showered in different cities of the province including Gujranwala, Kasur, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
