SC rejects bail plea in narcotics case

The SC cancelled the pail plea of an accused charged of narcotics and other crimes.

A three-member bench led by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court conducted hearing of the case.The defence counsel on the part of accused Babar argued that the accused involved in narcotics cases had nothing to do with allegation leveled against him. Rather he was being targeted as he married niece of an MPA.The defence counsel also prayed to the court to accept the bail plea of his client.SPO Bhakkar, an Investigation Officer, submitted his written statement in the court and said that the accused was involved in narcotic case before marriage.The chief justice after hearing both sides cancelled the bail plea of the accused.On the other hand, the same bench adjourned the hearing on the case pertaining to extension in the Canal Road and incident of cutting of trees till August 15.
