Strong Pak-China friendship guarantees regional stability: PM
BEIJING (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday has said that the strong friendship between Pakistan and China guarantees stability in the region.
In an interview to Chinese media, the premier said that the first phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) consisted of connectivity and we are now entering into its second phase. CPEC is the flagship project of Belt and Road initiative, he added.
Expressing deep concern on the deplorable situation in Afghanistan, he urged the global community to pay attention to the plight of forty million Afghan people.
The people of Afghanistan have witnessed nothing but war for four decades. The international community froze financial assets of the country due to which several problems have been caused, he asserted.
While referring to Kashmir dispute, the PM said that we want a peaceful solution to this long-standing issue as it is a bone of contention between Pakistan and India. He further underlined the need of political resolution to all regional conflicts through dialogue.
Imran Khan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government not only saved the country from economic depression but also gave significant relief to masses due to prudent economic policies. We are trying to introduce Chinese Model in Pakistan for poverty alleviation, he told.
The prime minister also thanked the Chinese government for providing coronavirus vaccines as Pakistan succeeded to curtail spread of the virus by utilizing Chinese experience.
