Residents of Malir Town staged a protest against the arrests and blocked the National Highway.

The residents of Karachi’s Malir Town staged a protest on National Highway against the arrests made during the police search operation in Malir.Police conducted a search operation in Rabia City, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sohrab Goth, Lasi Goth, Ayub Goth, Gulshan Iqbal, Jinnah Colony and Malir Jaffer Tyar Society in Malir last night and arrested some 60 people.Blocking the National Highway, the residents of Malir town staged a protest against the arrests.The traffic flow to and from Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Landhi was suspended due to the blockade of National Highway and the worst traffic jam was seen.Heavy contingents of police reached the site and resorted to aerial firing and shelling to disperse the mob.The crowd was dispersed and National Highway was opened for traffic.
