FM Qureshi, Turkmen counterpart exchange views on bilateral relations

Turkmen Foreign Minister thanked Shah Mahmood Qureshi for extending warm and sincere reception.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad today [Saturday] and exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional situation and matters relating to mutual interest.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked his Turkmen counterpart Rasit Meredow for visiting Pakistan to attend extraordinary session of the OIC Foreign Minister Council being held in Pakistan tomorrow.

Pakistan s Foreign Minister emphasized on undertaking joint efforts to promote bilateral trade and connections. He said Pakistan will be happy in helping Turkmenistan to promote its trade relations with the Middle East and Africa through Gwadar and Karachi ports.

Calling for urgent measures to deal with Afghanistan situation, he said any consequent crisis would impact not only the neighboring countries but the whole world.

Regarding Kashmir, he said being a representative body of 57 Muslim nations, OIC could play a key role in the resolution of the dispute in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.
