KPK Local body elections: Candidates overlook code of conduct

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The hustle and bustle for the upcoming local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on the rise. Candidates violated the code of conduct by putting up banners and flexes in Peshawar ignoring the size.

Independent candidates including political parties contesting the local body elections hung large banners and flexes in the streets and alley ignoring the size of posters and banners.

On this matter, citizens said that no one should be allowed to spoil the appearance of the city.

Regarding the violations of the code of conduct by the candidates, the officials of the Provincial Election Commission said that immediate action is being taken where the violations are taking place and no concession is being made to anyone.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, notices have been issued to several candidates, including federal ministers, provincial ministers and leaders of political parties for violating the rules and regulations.
