PM assures to provide health insurance card to every family in KP

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday has assured to provide health insurance card to every family in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Addressing a ceremony in connection with launching Micro Health Insurance Programme, the premier said that making Pakistan a welfare state is government’s first priority. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won second time in KP over taking steps to reduce poverty, he added.  

Earlier in the day, the premier had arrived in Peshawar on a day-long visit where he met Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Administrative issues and political situation of the province was discussed during the meeting.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain was also present on the occasion.

PM is also scheduled to attend the registration ceremony of Ehsaas Ration Discount Programme in Peshawar where his Special Assistant for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar will give a detailed briefing.

Under the Kamyab Pakistan Programme, the micro health insurance will provide free medical services worth rupees one million annually to 7.5 million families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Ehsaas Ration Discount Programme will provide groceries to about 20 million families making up to 130 million people, belonging to the economically weaker sections.
