Air Blue report sent to PM mainly blames pilot

Air Blue crash report has been sent to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani after its completion.

The report mainly blames the pilot error, though it shifts partial blame to the air traffic control as well. The Safety Investigation Board got hold of the black box of the plane that reveals a tense atmosphere in the cockpit and a spat between the pilot and the co-pilot after the take-off. The air traffic control didn’t guide the plane or direct it in time. The Chaklala airbase’s traffic control is with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Four of the Safety Investigation Board members are from PAF while one member (Air Commodore Salamat) was included on the call of the PAF high-ups. The wreckage of the plane has so far not been piled together. The PM has directed sending the wreckage to the plane manufacturers so that they could file their own report, which they generally do in 60 days. The PM has also directed expediting distribution of compensation among the victim families.
