Smart lockdown imposed in five localities of Peshawar

Only five people will be allowed to pray in congregation in mosques in these areas.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – District administration have imposed smart lockdown in five localities of Peshawar from 9:00pm on Tuesday due to surge in COVID-19 cases, Dunya News reported.

According to the district administration, smart lockdown has been imposed in Faisal Colony, Hayatabad Phase 6, Faqeerabad, Zaryab Colony, Ejaz Abad. No general entry or exit to these localities by any person, except those supplying essential commodities, shall be allowed.

All types of gatherings within these localities are strictly prohibited. All shops other than those of essential services (pharmacies, general stores, food supplies, tandoors, drinking water supplies, emergency etc.) shall remain closed within these localities. Congregation in mosques shall be restricted to five persons only.

Anyone violating the restrictions will be booked under sections 17 and 18 of the KP Epidemic Control and Emergency Relief Act 2020 and Section 33 of the National Disaster Management Authority Act, 2010.
