Soldier martyred in exchange of fire in S Waziristan

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists at a checkpost in the South Waziristan’s Kanniguram area on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Military post observed and engaged move of terrorists in the wee hours of Wednesday.
During the exchange of fire, one of the terrorists was killed while a soldier, 42-year-old Naib Subedar Sonay Zai, resident of Darazinda, DI Khan, was critically injured and later embraced martyrdom.
The statement said that the search of the area is in progress to eliminate any remaining terrorist.
“Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement added.
