The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir announced schedule of presidential election.

According to a notification issued by the EC, the election of new president will held on July 30, while nomination papers would be filed on July 28 and the scrutiny will be conducted on July 29.Members of AJK Assembly and Kashmir council will elect the president.The EC chief and secretary will perform duties as returning officer and presiding officer respectively.The tenure of the present president will be completed on Aug 25. According to the constitution, president must be elected a month before the expiry date of the current president.
