PTI's resounding victory in AJK polls manifestation of common man's confidence in PM: Fawad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain on Monday has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) resounding victory in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections is manifestation of common man’s confidence in Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the minister said that the opposition parties should reconsider both their leadership and politics.
He said the people are not ready to accept Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.
It is time for alternative leadership and there is no future of those who met with Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib, he added.
The reaction came after The reaction came after PTI emerged as single largest party in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections by grabbing 25 out of 45 seats in the polls as per unofficial and unannounced results.
PPP bagged 11 seats and PML-N secured 6 seats. Muslim Conference (MC) and Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party (JK PP) grabbed one seat each. The result of LA 16 – Bagh III constituency was not announced yet.
There were 3,250,117 registered voters, including 1,468,317 female, in all 33 electoral constituencies of ten districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover, all 12 constituencies meant for Pakistan-based Jammu & Kashmir refugees, exercised their right of vote to elect the Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly, for next five years constitutional term.
