CM Usman Buzdar directs WASA, provincial administration to remain alert during rain

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has ordered Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) and the provincial management to remain on high alert due to rain in Lahore and other parts of the Punjab.

As per the directives issued by the Punjab CM, WASA and provincial authorities have been directed to take immediate steps for drainage of water from low lying areas.

Drainage through machinery should be ensured in minimum time possible, said Usman Buzdar adding that effective measures should be taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic during rain.

On the other hand, heavy rain has disrupted the Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (LESCO) transmission system in different parts of the city.

More than 130 LESCO feeders have tripped due to rain in Lahore on Tuesday. Many areas in the city are facing power outage due to feeders tripping and other technical faults.

Due to prolonged power outage in Lahore, citizens are facing severe problems. Power outages in Allama Iqbal Town, Mustafaabad, Shafiqabad, Sherkot, Green Town, Shadipura, Baden Road, Dholnawal, Chauburji Park, Faizpur, Ali Park, and Data Nagar have disrupted the daily routine of citizens.

Amin Park, Bilal Colony, Ichhra, Mominpura, Shahdara, Karim Park, Begum Kot, and several areas of Kot Mohammadi, Bilalganj are also facing power outage.
