FIR registered over Johar Town blast

Three people were killed while 21 others were reported injured in a blast in Johar Town, Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Three unidentified person were booked by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the FIR registered in connection with the bomb blast that took place in Johar Town on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

A case of Johar Town bomb blast has been registered in CTD Lahore police station on the complaint of SHO Abid Baig. The FIR includes 7ATA, 3/4 Explosives Act, 302, 324, 148/149 and other serious provisions.

At least three people were killed while 21 others were reported injured after an explosion rocked Johar Town locality of Lahore on Wednesday morning. Two of the injured are in critical condition.

According to initial investigation, 15 to 20 kilograms of explosive material and ball bearings were used in Johar Town terrorism act. The blast created a three feet deep and eight feet wide crater at the site.

On the other hand, the process of geo-fencing at the site has been completed. According to sources, the investigation teams have arrested the real owner of the vehicle from Hafizabad.

Meanwhile, the footage of a car used in the Lahore blast has surfaced. A man dressed in a blue shalwar-kameez parked a black car in the street half an hour ago before the blast. The vehicle used in the blast is registered in the name of Zafarullah Khan

Inspector General Punjab Inam Ghani told the newsmen after the blast that the CTD is probing the incident and a detailed report will be shared about the nature of the blast and material used in it.

He said that the police was the target of the attack and advised the people to not listen to rumours.

Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the blast and summoned reported from IG Police and ordered strict action against people found responsible for the explosion.

CM also directed to speed up the rescue operation and provide best medical facilities to the injured.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid also took notice and directed the Punjab chief secretary and IG to submit a report. The minister prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
