Those claiming to end corruption are themselves involved in corruption: Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mian Shehbaz Sharif slammed the government, alleging that those who claimed to end corruption in three months were themselves involved in the worst corruption.

Shehbaz Sharif said this while addressing the National Assembly session. During the assembly session, rumpus was created again during the speech of the opposition leader, league members formed a circle around the opposition leader in view of the situation.

Speaker Asad Qaiser repeatedly urged the members to remain silent but it was all in vain as the session had to stop for 20 minutes due to the rumpus.

Shehbaz Sharif was furious over the situation of the Assembly session which was created yesterday. In his address, he accused the government members of violating the sanctity of the House.

He said that it never happened in history that the Leader of the Opposition’s speech had been interrupted.

Addressing the Speaker National Assembly, he said that those involved in creating such a situation would have to suffer the consequences and history would hold you responsible. The sanctity of the House was violated under you, alleged Shehbaz Sharif.

The PML-N leader said that when Imran Khan came to power, the GDP came down to 2.1 per cent in the first year.

He said that those who promised 100 million jobs have made five million people jobless in their first three years of government, adding that today the country s unemployment rate is at an all-time high.

Meanwhile, during the National Assembly session, a heated exchange took place between PTI member Ali Nawaz Awan and PML-N leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar. Ali Nawaz Awan hurled a book at Sheikh Rohail Asghar’s face.
